Introduction
Established in 1997, the Department of Information Management was first composed of a day-time section and a refresher section for a four-year program. In further response to government policies in promoting and upgrading industries involved in commercial automation, the department set up a graduate program in 2000 to train more professional managers involved in information management.
In 2007, the graduate program opened its doors to foreigners, and students were recruited from America, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The course lectures were taught in English as a medium of instruction. The first batch of foreign students graduated in June, 2007. In the same year, two more graduate programs for foreigners were established: one at SHU-TE University and the other in Vietnam. More classes will be opened in Vietnam in the near future.
Beginning from 2013, the department has offered two undergraduate programs: Digital Innovations and Applications Division and Digital Marketing Division. Students may choose the program that suits their interests and ability to develop skills and knowledge needed for this fast-moving information society.
